I
A secure window into the union
The member portal gives each member personal access to the records needed to understand decisions, money and results.
It is not a public website and not a campaign mailing list. It is part of the infrastructure of membership and accountability.
II
Why access must be continuous
Information released only before elections or after repeated requests cannot support real oversight. Members need to follow work while decisions can still be questioned or corrected.
Regular access also reduces rumours because everyone can consult the same record.
III
What must be published
The portal contains decisions, minutes, voting results, budgets, actual spending, contracts, agreements, Executive and portfolio reports, and the status of adopted programs.
Documents should use plain language and clear dates. A pile of files without explanation is not meaningful disclosure.
IV
Who is responsible
The Provincial Executive ensures publication. The Constitution and Convention decisions define what must be disclosed, how quickly and in what form.
Staff may maintain the system, but cannot decide for themselves which political or financial records members are allowed to see.
V
Privacy and openness together
Personal case information, legal privilege and necessary security remain protected. Those protections cannot be stretched into a general excuse to hide decisions or spending.
Reports can remove personal details while still showing the authority, cost, work and result.
VI
How it supports participation
The same secure account may support direct elections, notices, documents, member education and participation in authorized votes.
Technology does not replace discussion or Locals. It makes rights easier to use across distance and different work schedules.
