You & Membership
The organization exists because people choose to belong to it — not the other way around.
VBefore the structure, there is YOU.
Membership is more than a dues deduction and more than eligibility for a service. It is the point at which an individual becomes part of a collective organization without disappearing inside it.
Membership creates the collective
Members bring voice, resources, experience and the ability to act together. The Union has no independent democratic existence before the people who constitute it.
The member is not the bottom of the chart. The member is why the chart exists.Belonging does not erase the person
Collective action gains strength because people coordinate their power. It does not require the person to surrender judgment, voice or the right to question the structure created in their name.
The Union becomes stronger when membership increases capacity — not dependence.Rights need usable mechanisms
A right that exists only on paper is incomplete. Membership has meaning when a person can understand the rules, reach the Local, bring an issue, vote, seek office, obtain representation and see what happens next.
Membership must connect the person to power.Back to My Platform
