Migration does not divide life into before and after as neatly as forms suggest.

Forms ask for a country of origin and a country of residence. Memory is less obedient. A street in Lutsk can enter a morning in Salmon Arm without warning; a Polish railway station can return through the sound of a Canadian announcement.

Starting again is not the same as erasing. It is learning which parts of yourself travel without documents and which parts must be translated every day.

Three shores do not make three lives. They change the current of one life.
