My Role

I do not want your power to become mine.

Any authority I carry should remain a mandate — defined, limited, and answerable to its source.

V

I am only the authority I am trusted to carry.

I do not believe a title should replace anyone’s judgment. If I carry a mandate into a wider structure, my job is to question, argue, make decisions within that mandate, and bring back the reasons, the decisions and the consequences.

That is the kind of representation I am prepared to fight for: one in which the person, the Local and the democratic chain of authority are harder to bypass.

THE MANDATE

A democratic decision can assign a role. It does not transfer ownership of the power behind it.

I CARRY IT

Forward into the structure — and back with reasons, decisions and consequences.

THE SOURCE REMAINS

The office comes after the authority that created it. It does not replace that authority.

POWER DOES NOT CHANGE OWNERS.

A structure may act in our name. That does not make the structure the owner of what we entrusted to it.
